assets held?
Assets are held by a licensed trust institution
According to the UpFinance Terms of Service, customer assets (crypto and fiat) are held and managed by Merits Bank & Trust Limited, which holds a Hong Kong TCSP (Trust or Company Service Provider) license. The terms state that these assets are not mixed with UpFinance's own company assets and are not subject to claims by UpFinance's creditors. Fiat is held in a segregated customer account in Merits' name.

What are the fees?
The swap (exchange) fee is stated as 3%. Card issuance fees are $100 for Gold and Black and $20~25 for Blue (virtual), and physical cards have a separate $30 shipping fee. ATM withdrawal and transfer fees vary by card tier and currency, and there is stated to be no monthly maintenance fee. Check the exact Fee Schedule in the UpFinance app and on the official site.
What are the card limits?
Gold and Black cards have a daily limit of $250,000. The per-transaction limit is $20,000 for Gold and $100,000 for Black, and the ATM limit is $3,000 (daily) for Gold and $1,500 for Black. The Blue virtual card is for online payments only, with a per-transaction limit of $20,000. Limits may change depending on UpFinance and card issuer policies.
How long does card issuance take?
The issuance process proceeds once identity verification (KYC) is complete. Virtual cards are issued right after verification, while physical cards take additional time for production and shipping. The exact time depends on review and shipping conditions and is shown during the application process.
How do I verify my identity?
You complete it in the app with an ID and face verification, which usually takes a few minutes. KYC is required for Gold and Black physical cards. If you have questions about the verification method, ask through our contact channel.
How is a physical card delivered?
Gold and Black physical cards are shipped after you apply, with a separate $30 shipping fee. Shipping areas and timing vary by country of residence and are confirmed during the application process.
